Nick Johnson is stepping into the role of Managing Principal of the Des Moines Office. As Managing Principal, Nick will focus on expanding the office's client base, streamlining operational procedures, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
Eric Heynen has been tapped as the new Des Moines Electrical Department Lead. Eric has been with KCL Engineering since 2018 and has built a reputation as a diligent project manager and effective communicator. Eric will lead KCL’s team of seven Des Moines electrical team members with responsibilities including team assignments, workload management, and mentoring.
Neil Smeenk expressed enthusiasm for this new role, stating, “I'm excited to broaden my reach within the KCL family knowing the Des Moines office will continue to operate without missing a beat. Nick and Eric have long demonstrated their abilities to manage projects and people; their ascension into these roles will truly feel seamless to staff and our clients.”
Founder and CEO, Kris Kunze, reflects on this chain of leadership advancements: “As a growth-oriented company, KCL’s foundational emphasis on cultivating next-generation leadership is essential in executing growth plans on a department, office, and company-wide scale. I’m delighted to see this leadership shift play out perfectly. These changes not only recognize the incredible talent and dedication of Neil, Nick, and Eric but also set the stage for KCL Engineering's continued success and expansion in the years to come.”
